About

Author Andra Loy moved to Europe after university to teach English, where she hitchhiked, was sworn to secrecy at being shown a super-secret mushroom hunting spot, and fell in love with the only American man in her small Czech town.

In between rom-com and fantasy reads, she makes furniture to satisfy the constant need for more bookshelves, plays piano, edits her husband’s cultural podcast, Behind the Curtain, and begs her three teens to never hitchhike.

With multiple wins from the First Impressions contest to the ACFW Genesis award, writing continues to be Andra’s creative outlet of choice. (Sorry, music and wood.) Her work has appeared on the Dayspring (in)courage website and the WOW Women on Writing online magazine. She’s represented by Kristy Cambron of Gardner Literary.

During vacation days at the Czech high school where she teaches novel studies, Andra loves to explore book-setting locations across Europe with her family, letting the cultures and languages inspire her stories, like last year’s trip to Rome that turned into her first rom-com manuscript. As long as there’s more of the world to discover, there will be stories and secrets to tell. (Except the mushroom location. That one goes with her to the grave.)
